Hey folks, Harry here... I've been hearing 'off the record' stories about things that were in the R-rated side of the development of WAR OF THE WORLDS that had to be abandoned at the development stage for being way too hardcore for what Spielberg was going for here. Having said that - when my source gives me the ok to spill, I'll share - but this one thing was so over the top, that it could have backfired and resulted in giggling, and from all reports - Spielberg wants this film to be the American Survivor tale and I couldn't be happier about it. Meanwhile, on to the image below. I got something from Paramount that made me get where and when Steven got inspired to do this film. If you go back in your Cinefantastique files to that old WAR OF THE WORLDS issue. Well that cover has essentially the below image... not as dramatic with with flames and black... but that classic alien hand and the world. Now - do you think the Wayans are gonna make an alien invasion parody film called BOWL FOR THE WORLDS with essentially the same image below? We'll see... Personally, I can't wait to check this one out!
