2nd X-FILES Feature moving forward'

Hey folks, Harry here! I love the X-Files - even that last season. I'm very intrigued by a new X-FILES movie, I just hope that they cease trying to make a film that's about the larger arc of the series, but is a stand alone film. In my opinion - I'd love to see a Brian DePalma or William Friedkin film that took these characters and made a great mystery, horror, science-fiction procedural FBI film. To add a level of grit and reality to it. I mean, imagine what Jonathan Demme or Joe Carnahan could do with it. Have them involved from the beginning to sculpt something unique and grand with the premise. Hell - have it take place at any point in their relationship and involvement in the FBI - it doesn't need to adhere to the show's history. Elevate it from what we know. Those characters and actors have so much going for them, that to hand them to a great director to make something that we never could have seen on TV. That's the reason to make a movie, and frankly as a die-hard fan of the show, that's what I want. Well, that or a David Lynch directed Scully film with lots of alien lesbianism.... but I know I stand alone in wanting that. Here ya go...

Hey Harry,

Thought you might be interested in an Associated Press article with David Duchovny today.  The bulk of the article talks about the new movie David has written and directed, called "House of D" (an interesting read in its own right), but the X-citing X-Files Tidbit I will quote now:

AP: What's going on with another "X-Files" movie?

Duchovny: I talked to ("X-Files" creator) Chris Carter last week, and he said all systems go for next winter, early 2006.

AP: Do you know the story?

Duchovny: I do, but I wouldn't want to give it away. There's no script, so I haven't read a script. But Chris has told me some of the story, and it sounds good to me.

Here's a link to the entire article:  The AP Article Quoted Is Here!

If you use this, just call me Bob-O.
