Bruce Campbell speaks about his book, BUBBA NOSFERATU, SPIDEY 3 and more!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some tidbits about what is going on in The Chin's world. Bruce Campbell has made the rounds, it seems, showing THE MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN and doing his usual college Q&A stuff. Up first is a report from a Campbellite named "Uncle Max" who brings us the word from the man-god himself regarding his upcoming slate of flicks, including some good news for us BUBBA HO-TEP fans! Let's get to that and I'll meet you at the bottom of this report to intro the next one.

Hey Harry -

Though it's nothing terribly shocking and new, I thought you might be interested in what's up in Ash's world. I had the amazing opportunity to attend a talk by Bruce Campbell here at Northeastern University in Boston on Saturday night. The most relevant stuff came out of the Q&A at the end of his talk; while he basically asked up front to refrain from anything about /Evil Dead IV/, there were some cool tidbits about other projects that came up.

* Bruce starts his 40ish-city book tour in June. This time, it's "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way," a book that has something to do with relationships. I've heard it's a fictional how-to book, but lord only knows what he'll come up with.

* Although jokingly, Bruce said he will be someone who "annoys the hell out of Tobey Maguire" in /Spider-Man 3/, when asked if he will appear in Sam Raimi's third webslinger flick.

* Plugs for /Sky High/ and /The Woods, /though no new information

And perhaps the biggest tidbit of the night...

* /Bubba Nosferatu/ (aka /Bubba Ho-Tep 2) /lives! He said there are currently two production houses interested in footing the bill, so he and Don Coscarelli are "waiting to see how many zeroes we can squeeze out of them." The King will return!

Those were the big things. I do have to say that Bruce is awesome to see talk. He came with a prepared lecture, which not many people in the audience expected. He started off brilliantly, using the trick most speakers use by 'getting to know the locale,' but instead of finding some tidbit about Boston he decided to share, Bruce found and recited the Massachusetts state poem, then treated us to 15 minutes of his personal favorite codes and regulations of the city of Boston, including those about dogs, manure, and coal houses. A lot of people found this a little odd, but I thought it was brilliant; not many people could make that stuff amusing. In his actual speech, he lashed out a little at Hollywood's lakc of originality over the past few years, mocking the abundance of sequels, remakes, and sequels to remakes that come pouring out. "The way things are going, the next thing you'll see is a remake of /The Evil Dead! ... /uhh..." He also picked through TV's tendancy for spinoffs of spinoffs of spinoffs (a la /Law & Order/ and /CSI/) and the reality show craze as writers running out of ideas. Most of his comments were greatly appreciated by the students in attendance. He was gracious enough to sign some autographs ater the talk, and I can only imagine what little tidbits came out there. I got to tell him my /Evil Dead/ story (long story short, it's the reason my girlfriend and I are together, as frightening as that may sound), and confirmed that the book tour will definitey be hitting Boston this summer.

I don't know why this guy isn't the star his fans know he should be. He packed 200 students into our tiny on-campus nightclub, and there was a veritable army of people still waiting outside who didn't make it in. Their loss was my enormous gain. I hope this gave you some tiny little tidbit of new satisfaction.

Keep the site groovy,

"Uncle Max"

Pretty exciting, eh? I've been hearing good things about a BUBBA sequel as well. Let's hope the filmmakers get everything they need to deliver a bigger, badder, fatter Elvis fightin' some more undead sacks-a-shit! The next bit is a small look at THE MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN straight from the drunken fingers of "spider rico"... or rather spider rico's poor girlfriend. You'll also find more Bruce-isms from Campbell's appearance at this screening in Philly. Enjoy!

i hate everybody. im a horror fan in philadelphia, that never gets these kind of pleasures, when bruce campbell shows up, you know, its an important thing. he came to our smaller town in philadelphia to premier a movie that, you know, he talked about when it came out, everyone went crazy you know. he talked for a minute and introduced his movie, "the man with the screaming brain, and told us this was the first time anyone has ever seen it. all i have to say is stacy keach is the mad scientist. ted raimi is his assistant. and there is a lot of bruce campbell reintereating the evil dead 2 possessed hand and body role. the movie is horrible and funny in a really really really bad b movie way. its everything you want bruce to be. i really dont want to tell you the plot cuz there is none. its up there with plan 9 from outer space, but in a good way. afterwards, bruce came out and denounced all freddy v. jason v. ash. he said that it was the worst idea ever made. and he wouldnt talk about evil dead 4. he said that ah, the man with the screaming brain would be out on the sci fi channel in the fall. and the dvd would be out in january.

spider rico.

(notice: this letter dictated to my girlfriend who typed it cuz i am drunk)
