“Justice League Unlimited" is back. The first new episode of the year aired last Saturday, and the third-season finale airs tonight.
Well, at least the Cartoon Network seems to be billing it as the third-season finale. It's actually only the 13th installment. Seasons one and two had 26 episodes each. Oh, and new "season four" episodes air next Saturday and all through February.
Tonight’s half-hour concludes the time-travel story launched last week, with Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern teaming with the superheroes from “Batman Beyond” and “Static.”
4.1, airing next Saturday, features Green Arrow teaming with Black Canary (Morena Baccarin) and Wildcat (Dnnis Farina) to deal with a Superfight Club.
4.2 (Feb. 12) has Flash teaming with Mr. Miracle (Ioan Gruffudd) to break somebody out of stir.
4.3 (Feb. 19) will see the government try to wipe out the league.
4.4 (Feb. 26) will demonstrate the government’s lack of success, as Green Arrow and Black Canary hang out with The Question (Jeffrey Combs) and The Huntress (Amy Acker). This one was written by Gail Simone, one of my favorite comic-book writers, who’s also using Black Canary and The Huntress to spectacular effect these days in DC’s ongoing “Birds of Prey” periodical.
