Hey folks, Harry here with the latest on THE TRIPODS TRILOGY, that fantastic series from John Christopher. This has been in development at least as long as AICN has been around. After Spielberg announced that he was updating H.G. Wells' WAR OF THE WORLDS to the modern day, I was concerned that it spelt doom for this project that more than deserves to be adapted. Now, there's always been a part of me that wanted John Milius to have a run at this and make it as awesome as RED DAWN... but - yeah, I'm insane. SO - who did they get?
Gregor Jordan. He's the guy behind Miramax's BUFFALO SOLDIERS (pretty cool film) and the Heath & Orlando flick NED KELLY. It is an interesting choice to be certain. What I like about it, is I don't feel Gregor will "THUNDERBIRDS" it up with plasticene yuppie kids, nor do I think these will be retarded EXTREME kids. His films so far have gone for realism over "PoP". I just hope Gregor is a fan of RED DAWN!
