A note for those who TiVo "Saturday Night Live": Don’t delete last night's repeat just yet.

NBC just encored the 30th season premiere with Ben Affleck, but did not repeat the Debbie Downer sketch that aired live on Oct. 3. A different version of the Downer sketch aired in the wee hours of Nov. 28, with this preface:

The following sketch is from Dress Rehearsal, simply because it worked better.

And, lo, it did – and does - work better! Those who remember the version originally aired Oct. 2 – which was only the second Downer sketch SNL ever produced - probably remember it stank up the place. But the dress rehearsal version somehow got the material to work.

For those who TiVoed, the lost Downer begins precisely at the 1:08 mark.
