From The It-Ain

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

The Daily Mirror seems to love to start a new James Bond casting rumor every ten days or so. They’ve anointed Eric Bana, Hugh Jackman, and now Dougray Scott as the new Bond at various points. I’ve spoken with the editor there and I’m happy to announce that they’ll be naming me the new James Bond any minute now.

Seriously... look at the rumor they’re reporting. Producers are talking about taking Bond back to his darker and more serious roots? Really? Isn’t that the whole reason Brosnan walked away? Because EON Productions will NEVER change the formula they’ve got firmly in place right now? This one’s just hogwash, folks, and Dougray Scott is not James Bond. Period.

And as much as I like the guys over at InlandEmpireStrikesBack, they are wrong, wrong, wrong about the rating of STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH. George Lucas is locked into merchandising contracts that have been in place since he started production on the prequels, and those contracts state in no uncertain terms that he must deliver a PG rated film next May. There’s no wiggle room about it, either. You’re talking about a decision that affects hundreds of millions of dollars in potential Lucasfilm income, and they’re not about to blow off those partners, including Hasbro. Besides, Lucas has proven time and again that he’s good at talking the MPAA into giving him a lower rating than he deserves. Trust me on this one... PG. Absolutely.

"Moriarty" out.
