Learn Who's Coming To JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED!!
|
I am – Hercules!!
Hawkgirl is gone. They’ve replaced her with, well, everybody else!
The latest DC comics cartoon series, “Justice League Unlimited,” launches Saturday night, and it smells like a pretty good one, drawing from darker and less traveled corners of Superman’s universe.
Tonight we get the first episode, “Initiation,” which sees Green Arrow dealing with a nuclear monster.
The one I’m really excited about is episode two, which adapts the greatest Superman comic-book story ever told, Alan Moore’s “For the Man Who Has Everything.” The original story can be found in a trade paperback titled, appropriately enough, “The Greatest Superman Stories Ever Told.” Seek it out; you’ll harbor no regrets.
Three will hook Wonder Woman up with “Hawk & Dove.”
Four, “Fearful Symmetry,” will see Superman’s cousin transformed into a Manchurian Supergirl.
Five, “Kids’ Stuff” will see Clark, Bruce, Diana and John Stewart shrunk down to preteen titans.
Six, “This Little Piggy,” teams Zatanna with Batman to save a third superhero.
Seven, “The Return,” involves “two dozen” superheroes coping with an all-powerful android. The JSA and Amazo??
Eight, titled “The Greatest Story Never Told,” is a “Zeppo”-esque tale focusing on Booster Gold working crowd control as the rest of the League battles a youngish Mordru.
Nine, “Ultimatum,” will center around a popular young superhero team ignorant of their “horrifying secret origins.”
Ten, titled “Dark Heart,” will see the Atom grow microscopic to halt an alien invasion.
Eleven, “Wake The Dead,” sees an old friend rejoin the league after Solomon Grundy rises from the grave.
Twelve and Thirteen, “The Once And Future Thing,” will see Bruce, Diana and John team up with a hero of the Old West while other members of the team join forces with a future team calling themselves Justice League Unlimited.
8:30 p.m. Saturday. CN.
