Universal

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

Well, the trades should be breaking this story tomorrow, so let’s steal a few hours worth of thunder and go ahead and spill the beans now, shall we?

Looks like Prime Universe and Universal have finally signed a filmmaker to bring the video game SPY-HUNTER to the big screen. It’s none other than the king-of-the-two-handed-standoff himself, John Woo.

For the love of god, guys... don’t let him even rent a freakin’ dove. When I saw one show up in PAYCHECK, it pretty much sent me out of my chair running. He’s a good director as long as you keep his fetishes firmly in check. When you let him indulge himself, you get unwatchable self-parody like MISSION: UNWATCHABLE 2.

Also, for those of you still writing in about the GRAND THEFT AUTO rumor that ran here yesterday, RockStar Games confirmed with us today that they have not only NOT sold the rights to a game, but they have no interest in selling the rights to a game. Can't blame them, either. They do such a sensational job managing the franchise right now that it would be risky to let someone else do something with it that could damage it in the eyes of fans. We took the story down because it was inaccurate, but we want to let you know the truth.

"Moriarty" out.
