Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a tidbit on the status of Peter Jackson's KING KONG. Nothing much, mind you, but a tiny taste. I've heard from my sources in Kiwi-land that they've been filming the miniature sets on KONG for a while, but that the main photography won't begin for another few months. I saw a little bit of WETA's work on my last trip to the land of indescribable beauty and it was top notch. God only knows what Richard Taylor and his merry band of misfits have concocted since then. I'm hoping to make my way back there this Fall... Though I anticipate fighting tooth and nail with that bastard Knowles for set time and believe you me... it's not a fight I'm looking forward to. He's a biter!

I was at sci fi convention in Sydney. You know you are in the spirit of things when you see kids with cut cardboard boxes on their bodies trying to make themselves look like optimus prime. There were storm troopers along with imperial guards.
I was talking to Richard Taylor from WETA workshop. He said they've already been working for fifteen months on King Kong and are up to the bit where King Kong starts to fight the giant beasts.
He also said they're busy on Evangelion and the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe.
