Angel 5.12 FAQ

What’s it called?

“You’re Welcome.”

Who’s responsible?

David Fury, who previously wrote and directed the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” installments “Gone” and “Lies My Parents Told Me,” makes his “Angel” directorial debut from his own script.

What did Coax say about this one back on Nov. 16?

We might have mentioned Charisma Carpenter might be back as young Cordelia Chase. And much later we may have mentioned a colossal episode-ending spoiler.

Huh. What does TV Guide say?

“Cordy (Charisma Carpenter) awakens from her coma after having a disturbing vision about the gang's future, a development that forces Lindsey to expedite his scheme to gain control of Wolfram & Hart. Lindsey: Christian Kane. Harmony: Mercedes McNab. Eve: Sarah Thompson.”

Does the colossal episode-ending spoiler we’ve heard about prove true?

It does.

“Lindsey?” Didn’t TV Guide call the Lindsey-looking guy (or LLG) “Sean” two episodes ago?

It did.

Does anyone call the LLG “Sean” this week?

No.

So is the LLG Lindsey?

Sure. Why not. As Spike moans about the pain of losing his hands in 5.11, “Doyle” relates that he, too, once endured a missing meathook.

The big news?

A major player we’ve not seen on “Angel” since season one unexpectedly puts in an welcome appearance (albeit via videotape).

The bigger news?

Cordelia remembers Connor. And, if there was any doubt, it appears that everyone remembers what happened with Cordy and Jasmine last year (if not Connor’s role in those events).

Perhaps the biggest news?

Those harboring hope that Lindsey will emerge as the season’s big bad will likely harbor considerably less hope by episode’s end.

What else is TV Guide not telling us?

If it wasn’t revealed last episode, we learn that it was indeed “Doyle” who dispatched Spike to deal with the crazy slayer.

Is Cordy still half-demon?

No mention of vision-aches. I’m guessing yes.

Is she back to being the Mean Cordy we knew from Sunnydale, or the Nice Cordy she evolved into after moving to Los Angeles?

She’s still the Nice Cordy, if perhaps a little funnier than we remember. She remembers everything, even all the stuff that happened while she was possessed by Jasmine.

What’s up with the Cordy vision?

It’s tied to Lindsey’s scheming.

Has Spike signed on with Team Angel?

Nope. He’s still helping the helpless as a solo act (and still getting tips from his new pal “Doyle”).

Why does the LLG crave control of the firm?

He thinks Angel’s job should be his.

Any sign of Andrew, Dana or the slayers?

They have moved on.

What’s good?

“She is? Already?”

Also? Cordelia is her old beautiful, charming, skinny, funny self and wears throughout the episode a top that makes it impossible to ignore the triumphant return of her fabulous gigantic American breasts. If the objective was to remind us how much we’ve grown to love Ms. Chase over the last seven years, mission accomplished. You should have seen the lump in Herc’s throat as Cordy bade her final farewell.

What’s not so good?

Lindsey’s original exit was a lot more interesting and entertaining. There doesn’t seem to be much more to his scheming than we knew about last week, and his sudden departure may be greeted by a lot of fans with a collective shrug.

How does it end, spoiler-boy?

“Thank you.”
