David Lynch to do animated kid's film'!'!'! Also, WMD Found & Frigid Temps in Hell!

Hey folks, Harry here... Ok, officially we have a new curiousity to find out more on. SNOOTWORLD... David Lynch's SnootWorld... a CG animated children's film... I just hope Dennis Hopper gets to do a voice. From Stockholm comes the following...

Hello, Harry (love your site)

I have some tidbits regarding David Lynch. You may not want to use it, but nevertheless, here it is:

In Stockholm, Sweden, we are ending the ninth day of the Stockholm International Film Festival, a great event showcasing some really interesting film, with some remarkable guests.

Tonight I attended a forum with David Lynch, the guest of honor and recipient of the lifetime achievement award. Before Lynch came out, they showed three short films from his early days (including The Alphabet), and then the applause set in and he took the stage. He was asked questions by two mediators and Lynch talked about all of his projects, from Eraserhead to Lost Highway and Twin Peaks. I can say that he effortlessly dodged some of the more direct questions, just like he always has. The most interesting parts were his comments on his inspiration and the relationship he has with actors.

In the open question section that followed, two questions were asked, though, that I thought were of interest to you: A kid asked if we were ever going to see the complete version ( Iguess the one that's supposedly longer than the TV cut) of Dune out on DVD. Lynch had mentioned that it was the only project he felt was a failure, and said that to have to spend more than 6 months recreating a project he felt he had sold out on from almost the beginning, would only feel like a bigger failure. So no, he said. You'll probably never see that happen.

On a brighter note, though, He got the question: "Have you ever thought of doing an animated film?" to which Lynch responded that yes, he had actually written a script called Snoot World (I hope I didn't hear that wrong) that he hoped would be a CG animated children's movie. How about that?

I don't know if any of this is true, but it's from the mouth of David Lynch himself.

The event closed with Pernilla August presenting him with the award.

Before I stop, I just have to give some recommendations regarding films I've seen here, cuz this is my chance: See "Goodbye Lenin", "The Station Agent" and "Ong-Bak", a Thai film. All three of those are among the three best films I've seen this year. Goodbye Lenin is a smart, funny and moving German film about a woman who is in a coma when the Berlin Wall comes down, and has to be made to believe it never happened. The Station Agent is another touching but humorous film, and the only one I've seen that treats it's Dwarf character as a human being, not a caricature (I also had the pleasure of talking to Thomas McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, and Michelle WIlliams in a bar one of the nights, but that's another story). Ong-Bak is possibly one of the most intense fight films I've seen. Ever. Picture a serious young Jackie Chan. Or maybe this helps: Ong-Bak makes The Matrix fight scenes look like nothing more than a good try. Anyways...next year, get your asses to Stockholm, because it's one of the fastest growing film festivals.

Thanks for your time, hope this was useful.
