Hey folks, Harry here... Tim League and I sometimes spend months concocting schemes to make movie going more special and insane than we've made it before. Last year, we threw an All-Night Horror-thon at an abandoned Insane Asylum, with a real graveyard, a real prison with searchlights and a very very early screening of CABIN FEVER along with quite a few other goodies. It was surely a night to remember. This time, Tim and I are deliberately attempting to be more ambitious than last time....

I've been covering the development of FREDDY VS JASON on AICN for a full 6 years now, and I've known about the concept that there could be one for far longer than that. It has been one of those Fanboy Masturbation Projects that has seemingly always been dangled in front of us, but now.... Now it is here. Now the film is in our grasps!

Tim and I didn't want to unveil FREDDY VS JASON in any sort of normal way. HELL... We didn't even want to do it in the vaunted halls of one of the many Alamo Drafthouses popping up around the world. No... This was too special. The second the word came back from test screenings that FREDDY VS JASON was exactly what it was supposed to be... two gore icons tearing the shit out of one another with all the glee and joy and sidebar teens like sprigs of parsley... well... That got Tim and Mine's noodles a-cookin'!

We could find ELM street in Austin and do a big block party, but that would just be lame. HOWEVER, going out into the Hill Country to one of those creepy as hell Summer Camp facilities... Out in the woods... Water for scary shit to come out of... Cabins to die in... Yes... A Summer Camp Massacre-thon!

Then we contacted NEW LINE with our idea. You see, we wanted to have FREDDY & JASON out in the woods with us... We wanted them there to kill the fornicators and potheads... Yes! We want those that sleep this night to die a most grisly death! New Line was delighted with the concept and have decided to give us the co-operation of their talent and their film. So AUGUST 9th became the date!

This will be THE way to see the film. Sometimes, Horror Geeks Must Be INSANE! This is one of those times. A Summer Camp for HORROR GEEKS at CAMP HACKNSLASH - in dorky T-shirts and dorky shorts! The way Summer Camp was meant to be endured. Doing incredibly dorky things and then enjoying the most insane of Summer Camp Entertainment!

We're not going to fill you in on all of the secrets of this highlight of the July-August calendar, but suffice it to say, we plan to top the experience of last year's horror all-nighter at the insane asylum. Campers will arrive at Camp Alamo at 2 PM on Saturday for check-in, be divided into tribes, each with a camp counsellor. The day activities will include arts and crafts, capture the flag, a nature walk, naptime, a nutritious supper and breakfast, a tribal counsel, a bonfire, storytelling, smores and a quadruple feature of balls-to-the-wall horror films with camp slaughter as a theme. The evening will also be the world premiere theatrical screening of Freddy vs. Jason, with Freddy and Jason (Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger) live in person. This is important to note, because all fornicators and sleepers will be butchered.

Check in is at 2 PM, activities start at 3 PM. The location of the camp will be emailed to everyone one week prior to camp, and posted on the web the morning of camp. Camp is within 20 miles of Austin. We are keeping the location secret to avoid gate crashers.
