Check out a Post-Apocalyptic Tokyo Hell flick called DRAGONHEAD! Trailer Here!

Hey folks, Harry here... from the trailer, it looks as if a major meteor strike hits Tokyo and this is a film about surviving the aftermath... the tragedy may be on a larger scale than just Tokyo, but what is here is damn creepy and atmospheric looking. Good job spotting this from Spain my friend!

Hi harry,

I write you from Spain, I'm a filmmaker graduate here and i usually read all the filmmaking magazines on sell here and sometimes you step into very interesting stuff as here in Spain  some magazines  focus a little more in detail about news from almost all over the world.

Anyway today i stepped into an article about a very interesting Japanese big budgeted movie called "Dragonhead", the film is directed by Jôji Iida which is better known as the director of  the highly acclaimed cult film "Another Heaven" and the sequel of the original Ringu film called "Raisen".

The film is based on a popular manga created by Minetaro Mochizuki and starring popular japanese young actors such as Sayaka Matsuda and Satoshi Tsumabuki. The storyline of the film revolves around a survival game in a Tokyo devastated by a big disaster (from what i could take from the trailer it seems a volcano eruption ravaged the city),the article mentions that some of the story elements were highly influenced from William Golding's book "Lord of the Flies" and i did see some images that could relate to that such as a young boy with his body painted as an south american aborigine and acting in a savage way. The film looks beautiful with one of the most incredible post apocaliptic images of a city i ever seen, you really have to see it to believe it, the details of the cars, streets, and buildings destroyed and scattered all over is overwhelming and Mr.Roland Emmerich will have to work hard to top this on his upcoming disaster flick "The day after Tomorrow".
