Ratner to cast Hopkins, Fiennes & Walken in SUPERMAN... oh wait, no he isn't... Ratner Out Of Director's Chair!

SHOCK!!! GASP!!! WOW!!!

Harry here... Man, you won't believe this one. Earlier today SUPERMAN Despot in Charge Brett Ratner held a rally at the fount of the industrial complex, GENERAL MOTORS, dressed in dark power blue suit with a wide shit-eating grin. Ratner, speaking from "FantasyLand" began discussing the future of his "Reality" in which he would be directing a SUPERMAN epic trilogy that featured Ralph Fiennes as JOR-EL, Anthony Hopkins as Lex Luthor and Christopher Walken as Perry White.

"There are a lot of great actors that I've approached," he said optimistically. "But unless I get the Man of Steel, it's gonna be hard." Was his final quote according to MTV, that I'm sure routinely covers events that take place at General Motors. Ahem.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, far away from Ratner's corner of "FantasyLand", came the shocking news that Brett Ratner was no longer directing SUPERMAN, but was instead shifting to direct... wait for it... what amazing twist are we in for??? that's right... RUSH HOUR 3!!! Allegedly the script will be in place in 8 weeks, and presumably would begin shooting after Jackie Chan finishes... AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS!

When word from "Reality" reach Ratner's special little corner of "FantasyLand" he released the following statement to Variety "I have chosen to withdraw as director of 'Superman.' The difficulty of casting the role of Superman has contributed to my decision. I appreciate the efforts of Warner Bros. and the entire production team during this process." I'm sure that goes triple for Jon Peters.

Warners continues to search for a director of SUPERMAN, and will immediately try and find someone to take the reins of the project as is. I'm sure this will be really really tough, since obviously they haven't been giving this any thought prior to the afternoon, and I'm sure they haven't contacted anyone yet, and we all know it will most definitely never in a million years be another CAA client of high regard.

Now can you imagine that they would release this all on the day where it was most likely be completely buried due to the news of the real world of war? Probably just a coincidence. Yeah. Probably.
