I’ve been e-mailed roughly 27 grazillion times now about the description that TORN put up about a supposed RETURN OF THE KING trailer, asking why we haven’t linked to it yet or mentioned it yet.
I’ve just gotten off the phone with New Line, and they reconfirmed what we had discussed last week. The description is 100% hoax. Never happened. There is no trailer for ROTK yet. The guy also claims to have a finished videotape of the film. That would be the film that isn’t finished yet.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one, guys. I’d love to get a look at ROTK footage m’self right now. But next time this sort of description pops up, read it and ask yourself how likely the scenario is. Some guy at some random booth at a convention for Halloween costumes has a trailer that no one else in the world has seen, even though it’s for one of the most anticipated films of the year? Not bloody likely.
As soon as New Line has actually cut a trailer and decided where they’ll be releasing it, we’ll make sure to let you know.
