LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN promotional trailer up

Hey folks, Harry here... The trailer that is up on Film Freak isn't the theatrical trailer, but rather the second trailer that Moriarty described in his column of a couple days ago. Personally, I'm not sure what to think of this movie so far. I have both trailers on video and looking at them, I just have some basic problems with the look of the film and I'm hoping that it is just advertising trailer people stuff and not the film itself. For example, the color tints to sequences - I really don't like that look. To me, I always imagined the LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN as being the greatest HAMMER film of all time, that visual aesthetic, but this looks more like QUEEN OF THE DAMNED than HORROR OF DRACULA or HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES or those Quatermass films. Also, that mid-thirties looking car in the middle of the 1800s, I don't have a problem with Nemo making a car, but when I read the script, I always imagined it as being Victorian or Baroque in fashion and not Art Deco, which is in the wrong century. Of course these are all style issues. The characters seem to be being played correctly, and in the trailer that is yet to show up online, you see more... Spectacular action, particularly surrounding Mina. I'm hopeful, but a little wary. The script has the makings of a very fun movie, though different from the original comic, it has the same spirit, just a different story. Hopefully this will work. It's the closest thing we'll get to a Justice Society or Justice League film for quite sometime I fear.

Dark Horizons posted a link to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen teaser at FilmFreak.com

Direct link.

The site doesn't seem to be able to handle the traffic, though.

Thankfully, the trailer uses the full title and not the lame "LXG" abbreviation that seems to be in favor.
