ANGEL Moving To Wednesday PREY Slot!!
|
I am – Hercules!
Madonn’!!
We’re finally past having to choose between “Angel” and “The Sopranos” at 9 p.m. Sunday (the latter show will complete its fourth season long before “Angel” returns with new episodes in January) – and the WB moves “Angel” to the Wednesday Death Slot (WDS) that barbequed “Birds of Prey”! Now Wes, Fred, Krevlornswath, et al go opposite “West Wing,” “Amazing Race,” “Bachelor(ette),” “Fastlane” and “Twilight Zone.” Son of a bitch!!
On the bright side, things just got a lot easier for Sydney Bristow and “Alias.”

WB adds two reality series, moves 'Angel'
The WB will introduce two new reality series in January and move
"Angel" to
another time slot, WB Entertainment President Jordan Levin said on a
conference call to tout the network's November sweeps growth. "High
School
Reunion," produced by Mike Fleiss, will air Sundays at 9 p.m. starting
Jan.
5. The hour-long series will get a second run each week on the
following
Thursday at 8 p.m. starting Jan. 9.
Also on Thursdays, The WB will add the half-hour reality show "The
Surreal
Life" at 9:30 p.m. The show will debut on Jan. 9 with back-to-back
episodes
from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. before settling into its 9:30 p.m. slot the
following
week. Mr. Levin said the Thursday moves will give the network a "more
cohesive strategy for the night," but he added that it is a temporary
solution. "It's our intention to return scripted series into the time
slots," he said.
To make room on Sundays for "High School Reunion," "Angel" will move to
Wednesday nights at 9 p.m., taking the time slot of the canceled "Birds
of
Prey." "Angel" will move to its new time slot in January with an
original
episode, but the date hasn't been set yet. Mr. Levin said "Birds of
Prey"
did prove that there is a fantasy audience and a male-heavy audience
available for the time slot, and that "Angel" will be able to
capitalize on
that audience. Mr. Levin blamed the failure of "Birds of Prey" on not
being
able to get the show on track creatively and not having a strong
writing
showrunner on board.
Mr. Levin also said the network has ordered two more episodes of both
"Reba"
and "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" along with three more episodes of
"Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," bringing that series up to a full-season
order.
The fellow who passed this along is a good source but forgot to mention where he got this, and Herc is way to busy to look around. If this is somebody’s news story rather than a WB press release, let me know so we can supply credit …
