Full Details Of AICN

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

I’ve been getting a lot of e-mail about this screening, people wanting to know how to get tickets, that sort of thing. I’m embarrassed by how wrong my answers were. I plead temporary dain bramage.

The details of the screening are as follows:

Tuesday, September 24 - 7:30 PM

Ain't It Cool News/American Cinematheque Sneak Preview Showcase:

THE RULES OF ATTRACTION, 2002, Lions Gate, 110 min. Set during a semester at exclusive and ultra-expensive Camden College, a hothouse of sex, drugs and self-absorption, Academy Award-wining writer and director Roger Avary's adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel THE RULES OF ATTRACTION is a kaleidoscopic story about three students with no plans for the future - or even the present - who become entangled in a curious romantic triangle. Lauren (Shannyn Sossamon) changes boyfriends every time she changes majors and still pines for Victor (Kip Pardue) who split for Europe months ago. Hard-drinking Sean (James Van Der Beek), a hopeless romantic who only has eyes for Lauren, even if he ends up in bed with half the campus, and Paul (Ian Somerhalder), Lauren's ex, forthrightly bisexual and whose passion masks a shrewd pragmatism. They waste time getting wasted, race from Thirsty Thursday Happy Hours to Dressed to Get Screwed parties to drinks at The Edge of the World. THE RULES OF ATTRACTION is a poignant, hilarious take on the death of romance. The film also benefits from memorable performances by Jessica Biel, Eric Stoltz, Clifton Collins, Jr., Kate Bosworth, Swoosie Kurtz and Faye Dunaway and is due to be released October 11 by Lions Gate Films. Discussion following with director & screenwriter Roger Avary and cast members (schedules permitting.)

I’ll be there hosting the event and handling the interviews afterwards, and I’d love to see a packed house. If you want tickets, you can visit the official site of the American Cinematheque, our kind sponsors for the screening. They don’t sell the tickets online, but you’ll get the full details. Or you could just read them here:

BUYING TICKETS: (Non-Members/General Public)

The general public may purchase tickets by fax or in person at the box office. There is no handling charge when you buy at the box office. A $1 per ticket fee will be charged if you fax your order. Tickets are not available over the web or on the phone. Ticket orders by mail will not be accepted from non-members. Non-Members may fax (323.467.0163) orders in advance. Your order must be received two (2) full business days in advance of the date of the first show on your order. All FAX orders must include:

·

Name of Movie or Movies ·

Date & Time of Movie ·

Number of tickets to each movie. ·

Your First & Last Name as it appears on the credit card. Visa or Mastercard only (specify type). ·

Your credit card number.. ·

The expiration date on the credit card. ·

Your signature ·

A day-time and night-time phone number. ·

A $1 handling charge per ticket ordered.

Tip: The majority of our customers buy their tickets at the door the night of the screening they want to see, so there are usually long lines 20 minutes before a screening is about to start. To avoid waiting in long lines, when you come to the box office to purchase advance tickets (for a program in the future), avoid peak hours such as the hour before a show starts. On nights where there is more than one show, come once the first movie has gone in and you'll walk right up, or stop by during the afternoon. Should you purchase advance tickets? Well, we do sell out especially when we have guests, so if you don't handle disappointment well, get your ticket in advance. Remember, when you become a member of the Cinematheque you have the privilidge of purchasing tickets in advance.

Good advice, and I look forward to seeing you all there. Thanks in advance to Dennis Bartok and all the fine people who are going to make this possible for us. Also, watch the site, because I’ll be announcing a very special AICN screening event in NYC in the days ahead, one of the coolest things I’ve helped put together so far...

"Moriarty" out.
