Hey folks, Harry here... The trailer will be hitting online tomorrow I hear, and the Matrix people are making it straight from the digital source, so apparently it will be beyond gorgeous. Here's a report from someone that's seen part of it...
Hey Harry, how's it going? Ted Smith here. I was watching Entertainment Tonight last night and they showed just a small bit from the new Matrix Reloaded-Revisited trailer. I couldn't make out any sound from the trailer (music, dialouge, etc) because it was just a brief segment with their annoying voice-overs saying something like, "just two more days until the world premier trailer for The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions." Again, this was VERY brief, but enough footage was shown to make out a few shots. I'll do my best to describe what a saw (these aren't in any particular order) ...
- Slow motion shot of NEO fighting 3 or so agents in this victorian-style, double staircase lobby area. He then does this Crouching Tiger jump twirl spin thingy and lands on the balcony above with a familiar kung fu looking pose.
- TRINITY driving a silver luxery sports car (couldn't make out what it was) toward the camera, she slams on the breaks, and the back end fish tails toward us with dozens of bullet holes all over the car.
- An overhead shot, hundreds of feet in the air, looking strait down on a bridge explosion.
- NEO fighting a Chinese guy on a series of wooden tables.
- Tracking shot behind MORPHEUS and TRINITY as they run down a hall.
- Slow-Motion shot of what looks like TRINITY doing a front handspring.
- A sweet slow-motion shot of the highway car chase scene we've heard so much about. We're behind and just above the cars as the car on the right is air born, flipping upside down.
- A shot of MORPHEUS (standing on what looks to be the same highway) with a sword.
- A shot behind one the Viruses (or Viri or whatever they're called - they guys in white with dreds) in the back and on top of a fast moving SUV, firing some kind of machine gun strait ahead.
- And finally, a simple shot of Neo putting his sun glasses on.
What I saw of the trailer just looks too cool. Lots of slow-mo stuff. It was almost surreal seeing these characters in different environments and doing different things than we've been used to for the past three years. Enough black leather, sun glasses, and action to make May 2003 seem even further away. If I'm this jazzed from just a simple clip from a trailer, good lord, I don't know what'll happen when these movies are actually released.
From what I've heard, the teaser-trailer comes in at one minute and twenty three seconds. It'll be online tomorrow night around 9 PM Pacific at the official site and should be attached with Episode II on Thursday. Can't wait.
