The Amazing 'F8' CGI Short To Become A Feature FIlm!!!!

Hey folks, Harry here with fantastic news... Here is the little short film that could... the one amongst the many that will see life as a feature... That will move forward into the next realm. This happens very rarely and Massawyrm and his column INDIE INDIE was the first to tell you about it. I considered saving this for another day, but he wrote this before, well... you know, and this was the last bit of pure joy I saw sent in. Something where he was so excited for the indie filmmakers that they would be getting their shot, and that they so richly deserved it. Check out the links and see a bit for yourself! This is finely, at long last... cool news!

Holy Christ in a bucket! Man am I excited!

Hola all. Massawyrm here with a happy happy joy joy kind of moment to share with you all. For those of you who have been with me since I first came here to AICN, you may recall me getting all wet over a bad assed little piece of animation called "F8". Now ever since I've gotten this, I've showed it to a multitude of people who did none but rave about it. I've watched this short damn near twenty times and I love every frame of it. If you never read such a piece and are currently scratching your head wondering what the hell I'm talking about, read this CLICK HERE TO READ . For the rest of you, enjoy a few pieces of info have come to my attention.

First of all, you will finally get the chance to see F8. Now I got this bit of info a few months back, but as I didn't get an air date, I didn't spill it. Well, I still don't have an air date, but damnit, I'm gonna talk about it anyway. F8 got picked up by the Sci-fi channel for Exposure, a weekly animation showcase. The minute I have the air date I'll post it. You must see this.

But here's the really exciting news: Jason Wen (the animator) and his brother Howard Wen are currently working on a feature length version of their masterpiece. As they talk about here CLICK in their interview with the San Diego Asian Film Festival, they detail exactly how they went about making F8 and the procedure they're going through to work on the feature. They're a little scarce on the details, but work is being done. This, in my honest opinion, is cause for celebration. This feature will rock! God I hope someone out there subsidizes this so we can see this ASAP.

Man oh man this is cool news, this day was so depressing, but this gives me hope for those of us that must move forward. Good Things still happen. It no doubt will take a while, but its good to know that there's animation talent out there not afraid to work against the grain of current American animation trends to give us fans possibilities we've been missing out on.

Until next time friends, I hope you are praying for those touched by the tragedy in New York and D.C. I know I will.
