Hey folks, Harry here with a piece of an Interview with Jason Lee that DVDFile.Com is running where they asked Jason Lee about the probablitly of his being lil FLETCH in the Kevin Smith/Miramax FLETCH FLICKS... Well, if it is up to Miramax, then I have this to say to Harvey and that bunch... first off... There is a building female Jason Lee worshipping cult that is growing with each new day... I hear them in theaters, in grocery stores... Why just the other day, I heard a pair of these gals talking about PAYING to see HEARTBREAKERS just to see Jason Lee.... DO YOU REALIZE THE PAIN THEY ARE WILLING TO GO THROUGH? Jason Lee is so ready for a lead role in a very public very up front type of film. He can carry a movie, and Miramax can make him the star that several thousands of fans already know he is... FLETCH, if you are going to do it, should be a springboard for a supporting player to become a leading man... And Jason Lee, in my thoughts, is exactly the man for the role.... I was reading an DVDFile interview with Jason Lee, most of the interview was about Kevin Smith and Cameron Crow and Almost Famous being robbed of an Oscar nomination.

What really interested me was the following:

DF: There were a lot of rumors circulating a while back when Miramax bought the rights to Fletch for Kevin Smith. There was a lot of talk that you were perhaps the first choice to play Fletch. Any truth to that? What's going on with that?

JL: If Miramax allows me to play Fletch then Kevin will do it. But if not, then we're going to wait.

DF: So, not only are you the first choice, it sounds like you're the only choice.

JL: That came from Kevin.

DF: I think you'd be perfect for it.

JL: I'd love to do it. It's the younger Fletch from Fletch Won. It'd be so much fun, my little tribute to Chevy Chase and redoing the sort of 80s Fletch thing.

DF: I really hope you get to do it, because I would love to see it.

JL: Yeah, me too!
